STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:

1) I believe that each student is valuable, and that every person can learn. Each perspective with which a child is moulded brings new input to the group as a whole.

2) I believe that every person is responsible for themself, and that those people who are blessed with the chance to raise children have added responsiblilities to their child, to society, and to themselves to give them all of the support and the life lessons they will require to be active participants in their own lives and educations.

3) I believe in teaching children to do the right things according to their own beliefs and values, and to value the experiences of others and of many different points of view.

4) I believe in teaching children, not just particular facts from particular subjects, but instead how to learn, and how to think critically.

My purpose is to strive to meet the goals of the school system, and to give every child the opportunity to learn and to think in ways different from those with which they may have been exposed previously. I am passionate about teaching, and I love every person I meet as a rule, regardless of whether or not they express difficulties in their lives in negative ways. If anyone reading this has any questions for me, they may contact me at their convenience through my county email brian.nichols@acboe.net.
