Prattville High School: Guidance

GUIDANCE:
The professional counseling staff at Prattville High School provides two main areas of service to students and advisors. Guidance is provided to students in the areas of curriculum selection and information services including vocational, colleges, trades, testing, and scholarship information. Guidance is provided for advisors on request concerning curriculum requirements, conducting conferences, and any other of the areas already mentioned. Counselors solicit student referrals and advisors using forms and guidelines provided. Counselors will at all times keep their conferences with students confidential.

CUMULATIVE RECORDS:
A cumulative record on each student is kept in the guidance office to be used by the counselors and advisors for working the individual students. Each advisee's record will be copied and placed in folders for advisor's use. The confidential disclosure record should be signed by those viewing records. This record is located in the guidance office.

Tutoring

After school tutoring is available to all high school students on a variety days and in various subject areas. Please refer to the informaion below to find a time convenient for you:

BETA Club Members- Offers tutoring after school for 1 hour in all core subject areas. Please sign up with Mrs. Studdard, the club sponsor, and someone will contact you about the date and time.

National Honor Society- Offers tutoring every THURSDAY in all core subject areas after school for 1 hour in the Mane. Students should report to Mane by 3:15 to receive instructions.

First Baptist Church in Prattville offers math and science tutoring on Tuesday nights from 6:30pm until 8pm. The church is located at Washington and 3rd Street. Use the 3rd street entrance, first floor of the adult edcuation building. For more information call 365-0606.

A big thank you to International Paper Company for their donation to the Math Department. With the money donated, we were able to purchase 11 brand new Dell projectors for math instruction at Prattville High School. As we strive to add more technology to our classrooms, we certainly appreciate the help of our community. They also sponsored 2 students to attend the HOBY leadership conference. We appreciate International Paper's support at PHS.
