A Legacy of Excellence, One Stride at a Time
For over fifteen years, the 7th–12th Grade Cross Country program has defined itself through an unwavering commitment to the trail and the team. Our history is marked by fifteen consecutive appearances at the State Meet, a testament to the discipline, grit, and competitive fire that characterize every Lion who laces up their spikes.
At the heart of our program lies a dual philosophy: the pursuit of individual mastery and the power of collective strength. We believe that while the clock measures the runner, the team sustains the athlete. By fostering a culture of rigorous collaboration, we create a supportive environment where personal records are broken and team bonds are forged.
Whether navigating a challenging ascent or sprinting toward a finish line, our runners are driven by a shared mission to exceed their own expectations and elevate those around them. This balance of personal ambition and mutual accountability remains the cornerstone of our enduring success.
Forward. Together. Go Lions!
Coach's Corner
Coach Caitlin Campbell - Head Coach (2021-present)
I am originally from a small community located in the southeastern region of Alabama. After graduating high school, I continued my academic and athletic career at Lurleen B. Wallace Community College, then continued my studies at Auburn University of Montgomery. After completing my internship, I was offered an English position, and this year will mark my 8th year teaching and coaching at Prattville High School.
Through the years, I have worked tirelessly to incorporate a team that values and appreciates collective success rather than "personal bests". While we recognize that individual milestones are important, the culture of belonging to a team and celebrating the success of the team supersedes.
Coach Nyr Charles - Assistant Coach (2025-present)
This is my third year teaching at Prattville High School, and my fifth year teaching. I graduated from PHS in 2001 and I'm excited to be back. I will be teaching World History. I also coach baseball and cross country.
Prior to teaching and coaching I worked in politics and marketing. I received my Bachelor's degree Political Science from AUM in 2005 and my Master's degree in Public Administration in 2015. I am married and we have two sons that attend Prattville schools. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to come back and be involved with the athletics programs at my alma mater.
