Bio
Better known to my students and athletes as Coach Mo, I'm thrilled to be teaching 9th and 10th grade ELA and serving as the Assistant Cheer Coach at my alma mater, Prattville High School! Though I've been long-term subbing for Autauga County since 2019, this is my first year with a classroom all my own; I couldn't be more excited!
I hold a Bachelor degree from Auburn University at Montgomery and am currently pursuing my Master's in Secondary Education from the University of West Alabama. I also served six years in the Alabama Army National Guard as a Combat Medic Specialist and got my adrenaline rush on the side from working in the back of an ambulance in Montgomery. In 2020, COVID hit and it's funny how having children of your own changes your priorities in life!
When I am not teaching or coaching, I'm at my happiest spending time with my greatest blessings - my high school sweetheart-turned-husband of nearly 13 years and our three amazing children. You can usually find me curled up with a good book (especially something by Edgar Allan Poe, J.K. Rowling, or Stephen King), or screaming "Roll Tide!" at Nick Saban Field in BDS/our television every Saturday in the fall... and most of the year too, honestly!
As a proud Prattville Cheer alum, it's an honor to give back to the program that shaped me, and I cherish the opportunity to pour into the next generation - both in the classroom and on the sidelines.
