In order to communicate more effectively, we now have a PHS: National Honor Society in Schoology. Please check your Notifications (the bell icon), click on Requests, and then accept your invitation to the group. I am hoping this is the best way to convey information for BOTH the traditional and virtual students.
National Honor Society, Prattville High School Chapter
Current Members: Scheduled meetings are traditionally at 7:20 A.M. in the Media Center on the third Thursday of each month school is in session. For the 2020-2021 school year, all meetings will be held virtually. More information will be given after our first Officers' meeting.
Transferring members: The PHS chapter will need a letter of good standing from your previous school before you can be admitted to the PHS Chapter. You may have your previous sponsor/supervising teacher email a letter to Mrs. Forrester. Transfer members in good standing do not have to be inducted.
Membership requirements for new members for NHS include (1) a 3.5 GPA in high school courses; (2) a sophomore, junior, or senior student at PHS; (3) good character marked by respect, self-discipline, and dedication to learning; (4) participation in school, church, or community activities and programs that demonstrate a desire to develop teamwork and leadership skills.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we will not be able to host a traditional Induction ceremony this year.
Students will receive a certificate for their membership. Certificates will be delivered to Traditional students after Thanksgiving Break. Virtual students will be notified via Remind when they are ready to be picked up from the Student Center.
Inside the certificate envelope, there will be information regarding $20 dues, which will be paid using the GoFan app. Dues must be paid by Friday, January 15th, and will include a club t-shirt which will be distributed next semester.
Requirements for maintaining good standing in the club include: maintaining a 3.5 GPA, completing 10 service hours, and paying dues.
