Tony Camara

I am thrilled to be the 9th Grade Assistant principal.  Our family moved here 19 years ago and we immediately felt at home in such a welcoming community.

I graduated from Shaw High School in Columbus, Georgia in 1986.  After high school, I continued my academic pursuits as a member of the United States Air Force.  I guess you could say the most important lesson I learned by serving my country is to always keep others in mind and not make it about you.  I finished my degree from Troy University Montgomery  while serving on active duty. I received by bachelor’s degree in History with a minor in Political Science. 

I retired from the Air Force in 2007 and immediately joined the Prattville Junior High School family as a 7th grade history teacher, a baseball coach, and an 8th grade football coach.  I completed my master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from the University of Alabama in 2014 with tons of support from my family.

I am married to my high school sweetheart, Tracy Camara, and have been for over 30 years.  I can say she is the one person in this world who keeps my life balanced.  Michael and Justin are our two wonderful boys who are both former CATS and graduates of Prattville High School.  Michael is a graduate of the University of Alabama and Justin is currently a student at the University of Alabama.  On any given day, you will hear Go Cats, Go Lions, and Roll Tide echo from our home!
